Famous People with ADHD

Famous People with ADHD

There are many famous people with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) who have gone onto fame and fortune. Unlike some other diseases and conditions, ADHD doesn’t have to hold one back in life.

If properly diagnosed and treated, not only famous people may live with ADHD but so can everyone else.

Below is a list of famous and notable people with ADHD that are known at this time. If you have a celeb or other notable person to add to this list please send it in.

These are just some of the famous names of people with ADHD. There are many other stars with ADHD who have not made their conditions public or the research has not been conclusive about this ailment.

Some stars have been forthcoming including Justin Timberlake who says he has this condition mixed with OCD (Howie Mandel, too), Will Smith who says that while growing up he had trouble paying attention and reading, Michael Phelps who acknowledges he has ADHD and that swimming helps him focus, and Jim Carrey says that his zany antics are the result of his ADHD.

Sir Richard Branson says he has it. Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan state that they each have taken Adderall to control it. Terry Bradshaw, Bruce Jenner and James Carville speak about it publicly.

And, of course, Robin Williams (pictured above), duh! Just look at his high energy comedy and it’s not hard to see what fuels the comedic fire with him.

Albert Einstein

As you can see, having ADHD did not hold many of these famous people back in their careers. In fact, some of the most creative (and brilliant) people the world has known have had this condition.

Reader Comments …

Happy New Year to you and your team. I recently found out i have ADHD.I am a novelist from Corinth, Greece. I plan to write an article based on personal experience on this syndrom.

My favourite artist has been Da Vinci, i write cathreptic script too. And my favourite painter has always been Van Gogh. I never considered him as psychopath, i had this strange understanding of him and his paintings. Hemingway has always been deeply appreciated, i could see throuh his dialogues more than an average reader would do. I now know because we had ADHD in common. Because i can focus extremely, i wrote from the beggining pastiches, which are absolute literary imitation of other writers, such as Llorca. It is a very particular and rare literary gift.

People with ADHD understand each other more deeply.
